So, why should you use us?

The law states that any person with responsibility for fire safety in a building MUST appoint a demonstrably competent person or contractor to carry out any maintenance on the fire safety equipment of their building. A ‘competent’ person is one who has had specialist training, is experienced and understands the requirements and properties of the materials, products and systems they are working with.

Our governments and industry recommend that the best way to ensure the people you appoint to do this work are ‘competent’ is to select those that are third party, independently certified by a UKAS accredited agency or body as being so.

We are the only company in Scotland to be accredited by both the FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme) and BM Trada Q Mark for these activities and we have an extensive reach throughout Scotland and beyond.

We are the only company in Scotland to be accredited by both the FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme) and BM Trada Q Mark for these activities and we have an extensive reach throughout Scotland and beyond.

We know that many in house maintenance teams are full of great trades people, but if they haven’t had the specialist training relating to these types of equipment then it will be difficult to demonstrate due diligence in fulfilling your legal responsibilities if called upon to do so.

We also know that many external providers (facilities management companies, surveyors, etc.) are well qualified in their specific sectors, but if they haven’t had the specialist training and certification that satisfies the test of ‘competence’ in law then the same risk exists.

Our experience also shows that the majority of buildings we visit have non-compliant fire doors and fire stopping. If you are a ‘duty holder’, ‘responsible person’ or an agent acting for one, then you should contact us to discuss how we can help you make your building safer and reduce your exposure to legal action.
